In 1990, high school friends in Northern Indiana noted the high performance potential of plastic and its use in outdoor applications. Doug Rassi, President, and Mark Phillabaum, Sales/Marketing, founders and owners of Poly~Wood, Inc., discovered they could extrude the pellets of the recycled milk jugs into plastic lumber. That lumber could then be used to assemble outdoor furniture. Over time, this plastic lumber has proven to be unaffected by the sun, rain,snow, sleet, wind, saltwater, chlorine and mildew. The very nature of Poly~Wood keeps the color from fading, and it is heavy duty so it isn’t blown around by the slightest breeze. It is assembled using stainless steel hardware that has an additional protective Xylan coating. It is nonporous so the furniture can be left outside year round, no matter the climate. Regular, easy maintenance with soap and water keeps it clean and enjoyable for countless seasons.
